    CRNA FAQ
How much will I be paid?
When you work with MSN, you'll be paid the most competitive rates possible. Since each assignment will offer different opportunities for pay, it's difficult to give an exact amount. You'll always know before accepting a particular assignment how much you will earn.

How often will I be paid?
Medical Staffing Network ALWAYS pays its practitioners on a weekly basis. We'll pay you the same week we receive your invoice.

    What about health benefits?
CRNAs who work with us are independent contractors, not employees of MSN, and are therefore not eligible for health insurance and other employee benefits. If you need health insurance, there are a number of organizations that offer buying discounts for the self-employed, such as
The National Association of the Self-Employed and online quote sites such as www.Insurance.com. If you are leaving a full-time position, you can keep your coverage from your former employer through COBRA for up to 18 months. Take into consideration the cost of doing each. Look at the possibility of having a pre-existing condition at the end of 18 months and then needing to purchase a personal policy. Although COBRA may be less expensive, if you are planning to do local per diem or travel work for longer than 18 months, you might want to consider your own plan to avoid pre-existing condition problems once COBRA expires.

What do I do about malpractice?
You have a couple of options. You can utilize your own malpractice insurance, in which case MSN would request a certificate of insurance from your carrier, or you can purchase per diem malpractice insurance through Medical Staffing Network.

How do I get licensed in different states?
Licensing requirements are different for each state. If you reside and hold a current RN license in one of the growing number of Compact States, you need only apply for and obtain your Advanced Practice license (if required) to work in another of the Compact States. If you do not have a Compact State license, you will first obtain both your RN and Advanced Practice (if required by the state) licenses for that particular state. Your recruiter will gladly assist you in obtaining the appropriate licensure.

Who takes care of my travel expenses?
Medical Staffing Network will arrange and pay for your travel and lodging expenses. Travel is usually round-trip airfare, rental car or personal car mileage to and from the assignment. Lodging is generally a hotel or extended stay facility in close proximity to the facility where you'll be working.

How long am I committed for?
MSN offers you the flexibility of assignment lengths that vary from one day to several weeks, months or even years. We can even help with permanent placement. You're committed to the length of the assignment you have currently accepted. Beyond that, where, when and how long is up to you.
